2019 Festival Activities
Join us Saturday August 3rd 2019 at the historic Crystal Palace in Picton, Ontario for a family friendly day filled with all things fermented. We will have a unique and exciting schedule of hands on workshops and demonstrations as well as a speaker series on specific interest topics of fermentation. All day, you will have access to the Fermented Marketplace, Beer and Wine Garden, Culture Corral & Kid Zone, and Speakers/Workshops for one low fee!
Admission: $8.00 in advance / $10.00 at the gate, kids under 12 free! No pets allowed, please. Free Parking.
All day long, you can sample and purchase a wide selection of fine fermented foods from 30+ vendors offering a variety of products including: Kombucha, Kefir, Jun, Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Pickles, Sourdough, Chocolate, Dairy and Plant Based Cheese, Tempeh, Tea and Coffee, as well as Farmers offering fresh local produce. Prepared food, from a variety of producers, featuring fermented products, will be available for you to fill your bellies. Head to our 'Vendors' page to see a full list of who will be there!
Beer and Wine Garden
From 11:00am onwards, you can enjoy a selection of Beer / Wine / Cider from local producers. *New this year! We are licensing the entire ground so YOU can enjoy all of the goods our vendors have to offer, all at once!* Head to our 'Vendors' page to see who's pouring.
Culture Corral & Kids Zone
A multi-topic Learning and Activity Zone for all ages. This year, Small Pond Arts and PEC Library are teaming up to offer a family friendly day of activities and games for kids big and small! Come and see what fun things they've got in store!
Ever tried Kombucha Yoga? How about Cabbage Yoga? Well here is your chance! Creekside Yoga will be offering sessions all day long, including some Kids sessions.
Examples of Cultures, Yeasts and processes for various fermentation mediums.
The Crystal Palace is ideally situated next to a multi-purpose park offering Swings & Things, a Skateboard Park and a Splash pad to keep those little ones entertained all day long!
Speakers and Workshops
We will have an interesting mix of talks covering varying topics in the fermented foods field. These free talks, by industry professionals, will give you a chance to learn a bit more about fermented foods and have all your questions answered by people who work with these foods on a daily basis.
